The event opens with a conversation on the deep connections between Senegal and New Orleans, featuring Ibrahima Seck (Director of Research, The Whitney Plantation), Masse Ndiaye (President of the New Orleans Senegalese Association), and musician/composer Alune Wade.
The discussion will be moderated by Andrea Mosterman (Endowed Chair of Africana Studies, University of New Orleans).

Then, immerse yourself in an unforgettable concert with Alune Wade (Senegal – vocals and bass), Alix Goffic (French Guiana – drums), Corey Henry (New Orleans – trombone), Kirk Joseph (New Orleans – sousaphone), and Kyle Roussell (New Orleans – piano).

Presented by the Neighborhood Story Project, Alliance Française, and the New Orleans Senegalese Association, with support from the French Consulate of New Orleans and the Endowed Chair of Africana Studies at UNO.
