A1.1 Welcome beginners !

This class is designed as an introduction to the French language. You’ve chosen to learn French, and your teacher will guide you on a journey of discovery through its rich linguistic and cultural landscape.

By the end of A1.1, you’ll be able to introduce yourself, spell your name, greet others naturally, count from 0 to 99, and talk about where you’re from. You’ll share basic personal information, express likes and dislikes, and hold short, practical conversations about everyday topics.

You’ll also learn to introduce someone else, fill out simple forms, name countries and cities, and find your way around a city — building the solid foundations needed to communicate in French.

This course is designed for complete beginners. No previous knowledge of French is required. Please note: A1.0 is not a prerequisite. You can start directly with A1.1

So you’ve decided you’d like to learn French to support your child's education ? Or maybe because you want to know more about the French language and francophone cultures.

This course serves as a bienvenue to the French language. Throughout this eight-week course, you will discover the beauty of the French language, and cover the basics, such as introducing yourself and others (Bonjour, je m’appelle Jean), spelling and counting (un, deux, trois…), and general greetings and politeness (Salut, s’il vous plait, merci beaucoup). You’ll also learn how to ask a question, how to communicate, and explain why you are learning French. This course is designed for complete beginners of French, and no prior knowledge is necessary.
